Game History: Nozomi's life got flipped as she found herself waking up in the strange, idealistic 1950's American town of Mayfield, alongside her friend Rin Natsuki and their designated "father" Scott Pilgrim. Yes, that Scott Pilgrim. During her first month of staying, she was nearly convinced to "erase" her life to save everyone else, but declined because of knowing doing so would hurt others.

During her time in the town, Nozomi would find herself being tossed all over the place, dealing with the town's madness - investigating the mysterious dairy factory, pranking and being pranked for April Fools soon after being forced to write down her secret identity and dealing with a strange carnival, but keeping a bright, hopeful outlook. Things would change when it stood revealed that a woman held the key to freeing everyone. Not willing to stand around and do nothing, Nozomi recruited Rin and another "citizen" - Shoutarou Hidari, Kamen Rider Joker - to investigate one of the portals that showed up. Together, the three recovered an item and used it to help restore that person's memories. However, the city itself started to fight back, repressing everyone's memories temporarily. Even more, it seemed that the person who had the means of saving them was killed after another one of the town's twisted controllers, a Mrs. Johnson, took over.

It was during this time that everyone would learn the truth from the original controller, Jonathan Zemekis: that they were not real, they were nothing more than computer constructs that he copied from the real people and tried to force everyone to enjoy this new life. Despite this reveal, Nozomi took it in incredible stride, persuading herself that she was her own person and that she took comfort in knowledge in knowing the real her was safe. Soon after, the town started to crumble as Mrs. Johnson went on a rampage. During them, Nozomi encountered and forced to fight the mage Hayate Yagami as Hayate's body was being controlled by Mrs. Johnson. When the person Nozomi helped returned with a path out of Mayfield, Nozomi was one of those who took the offer, rescuing Hayate and taking Rin with her, the trio leaving the town with the others. Without a family, Hayate "adopted" the two, adding in her "daughter" Sasami Masaki Jurai, the pirate Captain Marvelous and his "daughter" Ako Shirabe and started to make a new life in this nameless town.

Of course, it wouldn’t be that easy - about a year after settling in, Nozomi would be grabbed and sent into an alternate version of Equestria, transformed into a Unicorn by the entity calling itself Calice. At first, things weren’t that interesting until she decided to aid Princess Celestia and other ponies in dealing with a strange beast known as Bertha, who turned out to be the Witch (re:Witches from Puella Magi Madoka Magica) form of a young girl named Megan. When Ponyville was attacked by Shadows created from the Everfree Forest, she came to the rescue of one of the newponies, a Pokemon trainer named Mako, who in turn rescued her. This rescue moment would set off a chain of events that would lead to the two becoming friends, partners and ultimately sisters. Things got weirder when, months later, a crazy, evil version of Celestia invaded Ponyville, leading to the revelation and opening of the Canterlot Library Basement, holding items from across the multiverse. With that came an explosion of newly empowered ponies, especially Pretty Cure types.

Feeling inadequate, Nozomi started trying to hunt down more and more power to fill that hole until an encounter of an equally confused Lyra Heartstrings would lead to Nozomi halting that train of thought and taking another path - becoming a Princess, something that came up after having her mind swapped with Princess Celestia’s and she realized what she was going through. This pretty much began a multi-month quest to try to appease and show that she was Princess material before having that ran into the ground when the so-called Badass Overlord known as Zetta became the first to ascend, who defeated the evil Tirek in the process. With her dream dashed and things being so slow that she had no idea what to do, Nozomi pretty much drifted through life, the only thing she had hanging on to was her bond with Mako and her emerging bond with an alternate universe Princess Luna.

Things would pick up when Tom Shanks, a Unicorn with an unhealthy obsession with trying to prove the newponies were evil, attempted to buy out the homes of a number of ponies, including Nozomi’s. Despite everyone’s best attempt, it seemed that Shanks would win out until Nephenee, owner of the land those houses were on, gave up her specially-crafted weapon to outbid Shanks and befriended the stallion in an attempt to get him to understand they weren’t evil. This lead to Nephenee to ascend as well and lead to a series of events that brought back just about everyone back to Ponyville in order to confront and save Ponyville.
Personality: This Nozomi is someone quite different from her canon persona. While still scatterbrained and clumsy yet well meaning and caring, the effect of having other people around her that isn’t just Cures has had something of a different effect on her. The big thing is attempting to accept more responsibility than she usually can handle. During her time in Ponyville, she ran her own store and was pretty much diligent in keeping up with it. It was her pride and joy and she loved it. Even more, for a time, she attempted to go so far as to become royalty without even figuring out how to do so.

A lot of Nozomi’s drive is more or less because of a lack of identity. This isn’t the actual Nozomi, but a computerized clone given life thanks to the wonders of Friendship is Magic and all that. Despite keeping her name and heroic identity, it’s the idea that she needs to do something to make her stand out from the “real” Nozomi that pushes her to do strange things. This even includes the desire for “more power”, especially in the face of those who are superiorly powerful than she is. It’s a habit she falls in and out of, though it’s driven due to inadequacy and the desire to protect others. When one of your best friends in the new worlds is a Twilight Sparkle, yes, you will feel a little inadequate.

Despite this, Nozomi’s a great friend. She never turns away anyone in need and will gladly come to their aid even if they don’t want to. She’s willing to stand up to anyone and defend those who need defending, even though protesting. In fact, if someone wanted to anger her, all they have do is insult their desires and dreams. To Nozomi, having a dream and working towards it is the greatest thing ever and to insult and belittle it just proves to her that they have little to desire and dream. As well, actual sleeping dreams is a strange thing to her - she is canonically shown to actually realize she was in a dream. Even more, especially if it’s a goal she’s heading for, she’ll reject said dream if it comes as “too easy”. It’s not her dream - she wants to work for it, no matter what.

When it comes to combat, she seems to drop into a different persona, taking a deeper, more commanding voice and dropping her usual clumsy and scatterbrained mannerisms in favor of something much more heroic. Oddly, this isn’t something to psyche herself or her friends up by putting up some sort of brave front, she just seems to easily slip into this. Seeing as she canonically tried to pass off the leadership reins early on and, during Ponyville’s power boom, let her friend Mako be the leader of their team there, Nozomi DOES have leadership qualities, she just feels that there are other people more suited for it.

Because of the events within both Mayfield and Equestria, Nozomi's biggest change has been her quest for identity. She knows who she is - she's a computer program molded in the identity of a 14-year-old magical girl given life by an Eldritch Abomination and temporarily transformed into a Unicorn. Unlike some of her other friends, she wasn't too affected knowing she isn't the real Nozomi. In her mind, it made her want to forge her own identity. However, what was affected was the idea of who her family is. In her mind, she has two families - the one still in Mayfield and the one waiting for her in the Kalos region, a promise her other sister Mako made with her. Losing that or even trying to assert themselves into that space like it's no big deal scares her.

Another thing that changed her was the drive to make a mark in the world. She isn't bound by her actual counterpart's desire to find a dream and, later, become a teacher. She's no longer bound with her quest to help restore her friend's lost kingdom, either. That being said, being normal is quite boring for her. She's taken up being a shopkeeper and even
Third-Person Sample:
Nozomi stood outside the Temple of Fire, utterly confused and surprised by the throng of people surrounding it, cheering her arrival along with all of the others. Another world, another adventure… at least she was human again and not a pony. Or even worse, a computer program. She turned to her Moogle, Pear, in confusion.

“Why are they all happy to see me? I just got here!” she asked.

“You’re a Hero of Light-kupo!” the Moogle replied. “You’re needed her to save the day! Remember?”

“Well… yeah, it’s just… can I have a break first?” Nozomi replied. “I’m still reeling from getting here and everything!”

“Heroes can’t rest-kupo!” Pear replied “Not now! Not with the Calamity wanting to overtake everyone and the Empire attacking people and that horrible, horrible Palitutu turning against everyone!”

“Mouuu, that sounds like hard work! And I gotta do this by myself?!” Nozomi replied.

“No, no, there are other Heroes of Light out there. Just that, well… you’re just as special!” Pear said. “I wanna do good, too-kupo! All the other Moogles have Heroes and I get… well… you, and…!” At this, Nozomi reached over to hug her worried Moogle friend.

“Okay, then! We got a job, right? To save the world and protect these people! Then, that’s what we need to do and we can’t let them down!” Nozomi said before jabbing an armored finger into the air. “It’s decided!”
Mognet Sample: Pear, are you writing this? Is it getting through? Mouu, I miss the old ways back in Ponyville....

Anyway, I’m Nozomi Yumehara and I’m very happy to meet you all! I’m… I’m not even sure how old I am anymore. 18 maybe? But, I’m willing and able to help out in any way possible! We got a big adventure ahead of us all and we’re gonna hafta work together to help save the day!

Oh! Also, if there’s anyone hiring, I know how to run a store! I ran it very well, so I can give you a hand with all of that!

PEAR, why did you write the first part? And now this! That’s not funny, stop writ--

At least until now.
Personality: Nozomi is your standard magical girl warrior-type character spun from the same cloth as Sailor Moon: ditzy, a little scatterbrained, clumsy, yet very sweet, caring and devoted to her friends. She's a very capable person when she puts her mind to it and is really willing to see things through. As such, she rarely backs down from any challenge, even if that challenge tends to be incredibly tough. A thing that tends to worry her friends is when she lets out her trademark cry of "Kettei!" ("It's decided!"). At that point, she has made up her mind on something and she's ready to see it through. The reason why she got her team in the first place? Because of this determination, going so far to finally reach out to the cool and distant Karen and win her over as a friend and a teammate.

Nozomi is someone who would go out of her way to help friends in trouble, even if it was detrimental to herself. She skipped class to aid her new friend (and future teammate) Urara in showing her around the school and even took up the lead role in a stage show despite Rin pointing out how she was kicked out of the drama club because of her destructive clumsiness. At the same time, Nozomi has a hard time focusing on things that she absolutely hates. She's actually ran out of a study session because the other girls forced her into it and she got so frustrated that she couldn't take it anymore.

A major facet of her personality is her defence of dreams. She thinks that all dreams are special, even if she doesn't have one herself (at that point), which is why she doesn't laugh at Komachi's dream of being a writer. At the same time, she has no room to care for incredibly selfish dreams and if those dreams ruin those of others, then those who dream those are beyond redemption.

As Cure Dream, Nozomi takes a much more commanding tone, becoming a vastly different person than she usually is. If it's because she being a Cure gives her that confidence or if it's because she's actively defending something, it's hard to tell. However, because she has a strong sense of justice, Nozomi will refuse to back down and defend people and dreams alike with all of her might, no matter how dangerous it is. It's because of all of this that she was chosen leader of the team.

Her time in Mayfield, surprisingly, changed very little of her personality. Despite knowing that she wasn't real and that she wasn't going home, Nozomi is still filled with a lot of confidence. She wants to protect the new town she lives in (and she'll go as far as want to protect Ponyville once she arrives there) and strengthen the bonds between her new family, all of which she loves very much.
Strengths: As Cure Dream, Nozomi has incredible strength, speed, stamina and agility, marking her different from most non-Precure magical girls. This allows her to battle beasts stronger than her, leap incredible distances and take a massive beating (in most showings, none of the characters have been shown with anything out of place, except for dirtied outfits.). Thanks to Mayfield's odd regain system, Nozomi is armed with two transformation devices, both of them giving her different costumes and powers.

Through the use of the Pinky Catch wristwatch, she takes up the form of the season one Cure Dream (on the wiki link, that's the one on the left). In that form, her main attack is an energy attack known as "Precure Dream Attack", which is basically launching an energy butterfly at her opponents. With the use of the CureMo cellphone, she takes up the form of the season two/Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GO!GO! Cure Dream (on the wiki link, that's the one on the right). There, her main attack is the "Precure Shooting Star", a flying and diving attack similar to the "Shinespark" used by characters and machines such as Samus Aran and Getter Dragon. She also possesses the Shining Fleuret, one of five Cure Fleurets, a fencing-like blade.
Weaknesses: As stated above, Nozomi's biggest weakness is the fact that she'll absolutely refuse to do things if she hates it and will run off if forced. As well, without her devices, Nozomi is just a basic young 15-year-old girl.
Possessions: Pinky Catch - her initial transformation device in the form of a wristwatch. It had two functions: to transform Nozomi into Cure Dream and to capture creatures known as Pinkies. The second function was disabled while in Mayfield.

CureMo - her second transformation device in the form of a cellphone. This device had three functions: to transform Nozomi into Cure Dream, to capture creatures known as Palmins and to communicate with the other girls. As this device was from Nozomi's far future, only the transformation portion was active.
Pony/Animal Type: Unicorn
Cutie Mark: A combination of a butterfly and a rose

SAMPLES
First Person: Oh, hey! Isn't this cool? I can write using my horn... but, why is it coming up in English. I do horrible in forigen languages and I don't even speak it! Maybe Mayfield altered me with that, too, and I never realized it...

Anyway, my name's Nozomi Yumehara! It's a real great pleasure to meet you all! I don't know why I'm here or what I have to do just yet, but whatever it is, I'm more than willing to help out, no matter what!

Oh! Um, is there anyone from Mayfield here? Maybe a Hayate or an Ako or a Rin or Captain Marvelous or anyone like that? Maybe we can meet up and see how everyone's doing, yes?
Third Person: "So, this is how being a pony is like, huh?" Nozomi mused. Having arrived in Ponyville not too long ago, the girl seemed actually nonplussed by it all. Then again, living in a hellzone like Mayfield may have dulled that sensation a little bit. "It's actually kinda--ULP!" Spoke too soon -- Nozomi's wandering and gazing got the better of her and she tripped herself over her own hooves, sending the magenta-and-pink-maned pony stumbling head over hooves into a heap near a tree.

"Whoops. I'm fine! Meant to do that!" she said, trying to brush off anyone's concerns that the pony was hurt. Rolling back onto her hooves, she looked up and gave a small sigh. "No sign of anyone else from home... but, everyone... er... h-how did they say it? 'everypony'?... here is a pony." Then, it dawned on her. "Wait a moment - there were ponies in Mayfield, too! Like Pinkie Pie and... and... oh, what's her name, the one who I saw acting like she was an action spy... maybe they're here, too!"

A lot more confidence and determination came to Nozomi at that, thrusting a hoof into the sky. "KETTEI~! I'm gonna go and find everyone I can, starting with them! I know they're around here somewhere!"

3rd Dream

its_decided: (Cure Dream)
1) [Action: 2242 Stevens Road]

[Despite everything that's been going on, Nozomi decided to keep a positive outlook on everything here. Things couldn't get much worse, could it? Waking up that morning, she was surprised to see a set of gifts underneath the Christmas tree.]

Oh, wow! Where'd these come from? Oh, what am I saying - it could be something good under it!

[heading for the tree, she reached down for the first gift she could find, tearing into it (without realizing it might be another Mayfield prank) and opening the box to find... a pink butterfly.]

A... butterfly? ...wait!

[the butterfly fluttered up and, instinctively, Nozomi held out her left hand. The butterfly landed on her wrist and transformed, turning into...]

My Pinky Catch! It's back!

[There was no one here save Rin, right? Then it wouldn't hurt to test it out, right?]

Precure Metamorphosis! The Great Power of Hope! Cure Dream!

[after one quick look over, the house would echo with a squeal.]

2) [Outside 2242 Stevens Road]

[She's back in action. Cure Dream is active once more. But, there's something wrong. There's a number of imprints on the ground and Nozomi Cure Dream is covered in snow.]

I don't get it. I thought I could jump high! And yet...

2nd Dream

its_decided: (Nozomi - Mou!)
1) [Action: 2242 Stevens Road]

[It's not every day you see Nozomi down in the dumps. Or at least, to those who knew her well. However, the dream she had combined with the news that so many people seemed to have accepted the idea that being erased from existence was a good thing, well...]

There... there were other ways... why...?

2) [Action: John Doe Park]

[It seemed that things were a little bit better - stores were slightly more packed, the power being on a little bit more, but for the moment, Nozomi just needed a little more time to herself. Get the funk out and be happy before Rin asks what's going on.

She stops and notices that Christmas tree and blinks. Still glowing even after all this time. A bright spot for them, perhaps?]

1st Dream

[Action, inside 2242 Stevens Road]

[For one Nozomi Yumehara, things seemed a little on the simple side waking up. Wake up, change clothes, set hair-- her mind stops as she looks at her clothes. It's simple. Too simple. It doesn't even look like it came out of the same DECADE she did! Then, she looks around her room. This isn't her room at all - a lot of her stuff is missing, including something very important - her Pinky Catch!]

UWAAAHH! M-My Pinky Catch! Where did it go?!

[As she tears through her room, she gets the attention of her 'dad'. The resulting panicking scream and race out of the house might be enough to wake the dead!]

1) [Action, on Stevens Road]

Am... am I safe?

[leaning on a signpost, Nozomi tries to catch her breath and gather her thoughts. This wasn't Japan, this wasn't the late 2000's and that person WASN'T her dad.]

Where am I? And where is everyone?
